Nicole’s Dinner Diplomacy

Nicole paced the kitchen floor, pondering her big task. Tonight, she was in charge of dinner for her and her younger brothers, Robert and Corey. She wanted to make something special. But as the oldest, Nicole felt pressure to choose the meal perfectly, so everyone loved her cooking.

Nicole wanted to make spaghetti, because her mother had taught her how to make it. Initially, she didn’t think that what the boys wanted to eat was a big deal. But, a little feeling of guilt sparked a thought and stopped her from filling the pasta pot with water. "Why not just ask the boys if they want spaghetti?" she decided. After all, it was their dinner, too, and if I mess up, Mom and Dad will hear about it.

“Robert, Corey, what do you guys want for dinner?" Nicole asked, bracing herself for their answers.

"I'm in the mood for chicken nuggets!" Corey declared with an eager grin.

"Pizza for me!" Robert chimed in, just as enthusiastic.

Nicole frowned, knowing she couldn’t please everyone. Nuggets or pizza? How could she make something both the boys will rave about? Then, it hit her. "What if we find a way to combine your wishes?" Nicole suggested, her brain ticking with ideas.

The boys exchanged puzzled glances, then shrugged. "Okay, but how?" Corey asked.

"How about we make pizza, but one of the toppings is chicken nuggets?" Nicole proposed. Her idea was met with silence at first. But momentarily, smiles spread across Robert and Corey's faces as they considered the fun chaos of a crazy pizza.

"Can you do that?" Robert's eyes sparkled with uncertainty.

"Sure! It'll be our special creation," Nicole assured them, excited to include them.

Together, they got to work. Corey helped spread the sauce and cheese while Robert placed chicken nuggets on half the pizza. Nicole oversaw the whole preparation, ensuring everyone had a role.

As they sat down to consume their unique dinner, Nicole felt a surge of pride. Not only had she managed to make dinner, but she'd also gotten her brothers to do most of the work—win, win!

"This is awesome!" Corey exclaimed, biting into the pizza.

"Yeah, nugget pizza rocks!" Robert agreed, his mouth full.

Nicole smiled, watching her brothers enjoy the meal.
